It is an additive manufacturing process that uses high-powered CO2 lasers to selectively melt PA powder to build a 3D model generated by CAD software. During the sintering process there is no need to build supports as the unsintered powder present in the chamber guarantees support for the model in production. The machine lowers to the level of the printing chamber and a special tool sprinkles a new layer of powder to build the next layer (layers of 0.0047 ” -120 um).
